Lockdown

Marvelous I cried,

My social life has died,

No more parties in my home,

The meetings are all on zoom.

No silly chit chat on and on

With no idea what’s going on.

The motorways are spooky calm

Empty roads are driving balm,

The air is quiet, no planes above

This is what I really love.

The birds can sing and can be heard

Much nicer if you are a bird.

Its peace and quiet how very drole

This suits my antisocial role.

I haven’t got to make excuses

That of my day have other uses.

So when lockdown departs

I’ll feel a hole right in my heart

That life was full of inspiration

I rather like this new sensation.
